I recently had the opportunity to chat with Imeo about his introduction to the industry, and what he shared was kept short and simple. Like many modders, after entering the e-cig community, the desire to make a mod of his own quickly came about. We proudly invite you to read a little more about his background, while perusing the variety of products he’s produced.
What led to you starting to vape?
I started to vape because I was beginning to feel like an old man. I couldn’t do simple things like I used to do when I was younger. For example, I couldn’t take the stairs to the fourth floor without problems, I couldn’t run for five kilometers easily, and I didn’t have the appetite to do things I once did. After one year of vaping, I was able to do the things I wanted again!
How long have you been vaping?
I have vaped for five years, and I wish I had found vaping much sooner. I just hope that smoking didn’t harm my lungs permanently!
What has been the most rewarding part of your personal vaping experience?
My lungs, of course! I can do exactly what I could when I was 30 years old. I started running five kilometers per day again, my back doesn’t hurt anymore, and my body is full of energy. I feel like a new person!
Do you remember your first setup? If so, will you tell us a little about it?
My first e-cig was a 901 thin e-cig, similar to analogs. I saw a doctor vaping and I immediately bought one. It had a light at the end that would glow each time I inhaled. I was so happy with it that I bought two more! Then I found Trog’s Screwdriver and that was the best vaping experience I ever had. Then I decided to make my own e-cig, so I could make one exactly as I wanted it.
Do you have a background in machining?
Yes, I studied mechanical engineering at the university I attended.
Who in the industry contributed to your inspiration for the Golden Greek series? Trog, of course. I liked the Screwdriver so much that I wanted to make something to help other people get involved with e-cigarettes.
How did you decide upon the name ‘Golden Greek’?
The name Golden Greek just came to my mind. I feel great pride for my country.
Are there any plans for new designs or developments taking place that we can look forward to? I have new designs ready to be made. Be sure that I have already thought of designs that will surprise you so much that you will not believe it!!
Are you familiar with the Otto Carter engraved GGs? We’ve always taken great pride in the work he produces, what are your thoughts on them?
They are simply a work of art. Otto is a great engraver. When I saw the GG engraved like that, the first thing that came to my mind was that I needed to find a way to create something similar myself!
What elements do you feel contribute to the creation of a piece of art within the e-cigarette industry?
Simple lines, lots of features, but made in the simplest way. That applies to all creations, not only e-cigarettes.
Do you have any closing comments for the vape community?
My comments are simple: don’t go back to analogs for any reason, don’t copy anyone’s work, don’t buy copies or clones, buy only what you really need, and be civilized in forums. Happy vaping!
